Did you know...

  • Most states charge sales tax on tampons and pads

  • 42% of all women in Texas bleed and most, if not all, use some kind of feminine hygiene product

  • This tax is an extra tax burden on all women in Texas and especially unfair for women in poverty

  • Nearly 80% of Texas State legislators are men. State legislators decide what products get taxed and which don't

  • Men do not have periods

  • Sales tax revenue in Texas from tampons and pads accounts for way less than 1% (0.07%, actually) of total sales tax revenue. So eliminating the tax will have a very small impact on state finances

  • A few Texas legislators tried to pass a law to eliminate the tax, but it never got a hearing in the Finance Committee

  • Several brave legislators are trying again in 2019 -- let's help them get it passed!
